CNC Machining Career Training Program Opens at Lincoln Technical Institute

A grand opening and ribbon-cutting celebration was held today for a CNC Machining and Manufacturing Technology career training program at the Mahwah, NJ, campus of Lincoln Technical Institute, launched by Lincoln Educational Services Corporation.

Those in attendance included Haas Automation Vice President Peter Zierhut, HTEC Network Manager Bob Skodzinsky, as well as representatives from Lincoln Technical Institute, HFO Allendale, and the state of New Jersey. The official No. 41 Haas Automation Chevrolet SS that Kurt Busch drove to victory at Martinsville Speedway this past March also made an appearance at the event, as did the Lincoln 2014 Corvette Stingray.

The Gene Haas Foundation presented a $50,000 grant to help create a scholarship fund for students who will attend Lincoln Technical Institute and study CNC machining and manufacturing technology. The institute’s CNC machining classes will begin November 13. Students will learn about job planning and safety, machining materials, MasterCam software, as well as processes such as CNC milling and turning.
