Learn Haas With LearnCNC™

Buying a new CNC machine tool? Do your employees know how to use it?

To supplement their existing training programs, a growing number of Haas Factory Outlets (HFOs) are offering Oxygen Education’s LearnCNC™ online learning course to their customers – with impressive results. They are making chips sooner, and the HFOs are conducting shorter classes with better results.

“It’s very efficient for us, and especially the customer,” says Dave Tucker, president of the Cleveland and Cincinnati area HFOs. “The customers learn much more in the HFO classes after going through the online course, and they can refer back to the online course later to refresh their training.”

The LearnCNC™ program teaches CNC operation and programming specific to Haas machines, as well as general manufacturing skills. Students learn at their own pace, but must score 100% on each lesson test before advancing. Students completing the course have reached the same level of knowledge, so when they take the HFO classes, they get more out of them. The HFO classes can be shorter, and students learn more.

HFO Boise, Idaho, President Larry McConnell agrees. “We offer a LearnCNC™ online course with each Haas machine that requires training an operator, and include the course in the total package price,” he says. “Customers get their new Haas machines into production quickly.”

Reduced training time means more employee production time. That’s very important for shops making their first CNC purchase. “In the last year, 41% of our customers were new,” explains Kirk DeRousse, president of HFO Hartford, Connecticut. “We want to get these folks up and running quickly, and LearnCNC™ has been a terrific benefit to us and the customers.”
